Ursuline Heritage Combined with a Global Academic Worldview
The teachings of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline Sisters, are the model and inspiration for how our young women see themselves and develop into leaders in the community and in the world. As the only all-girls' high school in Cleveland offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Beaumont combines a rigorous, college-preparatory academic program with a global point of view that is considered by universities to be the gold standard of education today.
Beginning in their first year, Beaumont students explore tenets of the IB Diploma Programme – Creativity, Activity and Service – throughout their coursework. They engage in inquiry-based processes that inspire informed risk-taking, leadership, and principled exploration of diverse viewpoints.
See more about our Ursuline tradition and the value of an IB-based education below.

“We find that one hour a week of single-sex education benefits females: females are 7% more likely to pass their first year courses and score 10% higher in their required second year classes than their peers attending coeducational classes.” —Booth, Cardona-Sosa, and Nolen, "Do Single-Sex Classes Affect Exam Scores? An Experiment in a Coeducational University"
Girls take center stage at Beaumont School. As a member of the National Coalition of Girls' Schools, Beaumont is a living example of their research which tells us young women in single-gender schools have higher expectations, are challenged to achieve more, and are more likely to engage in activities that prepare them for the real world.
