Cleveland Heights, Ohio – Kimberly E. Epley, Ph.D., is joining the Beaumont School as Director of Advancement to lead philanthropy at the all-girls Catholic School. Epley is an alumna, having graduated from Beaumont in 1995, and had served on its Board of Directors.
“Beaumont has always held a special place in my heart and truly helped to shape me into the person I am today - both personally and professionally. As an alumna, I am very excited to have the opportunity to return to Beaumont, meet and build relationships with other grads, and help the school to reach its philanthropic goals,” Epley said.
“Kim brings a sophisticated level of professionalism and expertise to Beaumont’s philanthropic work that will help to advance our mission of educating young women who will change the world,” said President Wendy A. Hoke. “However, what sets her apart is her passion for Beaumont education and what it can do for young women today. We are so pleased to welcome Kim back to Beaumont.”
Following her graduation from Beaumont, she attended Bowling Green State University where she earned her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biology. Upon completion of her studies at BGSU, Epley and her husband, Eric, moved to Florida where she worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher, Research Assistant Professor, and finally Assistant Director of Development for the University of Florida's Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience, a satellite lab in St. Augustine.
Epley returned to Cleveland in 2012 where she worked for two years at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine as the Director of Development – Surgery before being recruited to the Cleveland Zoological Society in 2014. As Director of Development at the Cleveland Zoo Society, Epley spearheaded the fundraising effort to raise funds to build multiple capital projects as well as provide support for education, conservation, and animal care programs.
