Project REAL (Realistic Education through Alternative Learning) is a two-week work and life experience for students in the final quarter of their senior year. Project REAL helps the student realize her potential as a confident young woman striving for excellence.
Students, with the assistance of the Project coordinator, parents or friends, secure a position with an individual in a profession they would like to learn more about and participate in a hands-on working situation. Project REAL emphasizes that through direct participation students can effectively learn about various environments and the responsibilities of the people involved in them.
The project emphasizes the value of life outside of school, in the community, as well as in business and industry. By exposing the students to these opportunities – by working in the “real” world – students actively apply the knowledge and skills learned at Beaumont. With the aid of her sponsor, parents and the Project REAL team, she will be in a supportive learning environment.
