Beaumont’s golf program, developed under beloved Beaumont Athletic Hall of Fame coach Mr. Gary Bill, held its inaugural season in 1997 with 12 members.
Over the years, the program continued to grow and find success on the course. In 2013, the team consisting of Elizabeth Corrado ’16, Jennifer Corrado ’14, Katherine Corrado ’14, Cassandra Heathcote ’14 and Elizabeth Mosier ’14 was the first in school history to qualify for the state tournament in the sport. The quintet ended the tournament with an eighth place finish.
Three Beaumont golfers have reached the state tournament as individuals: Lesley Monachino Bertin ’02 in 2001 (sixth place), Erin Adams ’17 in 2016 (11th place), and Lauren Bangasser ’22 in 2020 (13th place).

Lesley Monachino Bertin ’02 was the first Beaumont golfer to qualify for the state tournament and medal in 10 of 12 tournaments Beaumont played in during the fall of 2001. Her accomplishments included 2001 Plain Dealer Girls Golf Player of the Year and Plain Dealer North Coast Junior Tour Player of the Year, three-time Player of the Week (1999, 2000, 2001), Most Outstanding Freshman, Golf 1998, Beaumont Golf MVP three years (1999, 2000, 2001) and team captain in 2000 and 2001. Lesley was first team All-Ohio, placed fifth overall at the state tournament, and second overall at the sectional tournament. She went on to play Division I golf at the University of Richmond. Monachino Bertin was inducted into the Beaumont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019.
