5th Counsel Trips: 2026-2027
WASHINGTON, D.C. November 14-16, 2026
Learn, pray, and advocate for justice at the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice—the largest annual Catholic social justice gathering in the United States! The Teach-In is a place to be empowered, re-energized, inspired, challenged, and supported by a community that sees faith and justice integrally linked. Now in its 28th year, the Teach-In has a rich history rooted in honoring the Jesuits and their companions who were martyred in El Salvador in 1989 – including our own Sr. Dorothy Kazel.
Cost: $425 per student. All event programming, transportation, meals, and lodging are included.
Who can attend? Any current students, all grade levels.
PHILADELPHIA, PA March 19-24, 2027
Join Mrs. Mejak and Ms. O'Connor for a trip filled with service, college visits, and more! Our days will be spent serving meals at St. Francis Inn, a soup kitchen that has served the Kensington neighborhood since 1979. Our evenings will be spent visiting universities in Philadelphia and doing some cultural sightseeing.
Cost: $250 per student. All transportation, meals, and lodging are included.
Who can attend? Any current students, all grade levels.
EL SALVADOR June 7-14, 2027
Immerse yourself in Salvadoran culture as you meet the people, share meals, and walk in Sr. Dorothy’s footsteps. Learn from the Salvadoran people about their lives, histories, and hopes for the future. Engage with opportunities for understanding diverse perspectives on the impact of war, economics, foreign policy, migration, the environment, and faith. This trip is coordinated with CRISPAZ, COAR Peace Mission, and Beaumont's Mission and Ministry Office.
Cost: $1250 plus airfare and $12 tourist card. Includes ground transportation, meals, and lodging.
Who can attend? Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (Class of ‘28, ‘29, ad ‘30 only.)
CINCINNATI, OH June 13-18, 2027
Join with students from other Ursuline high schools for a week-long service-learning immersion hosted at the Society of St. Vincent dePaul in Cincinnati. The Ozanam Center for Service Learning will tailor an experiential week of social justice activities for Ursuline students to challenge misconceptions of poverty and examine solutions. Students will take a day to serve at Hope Emergency program, a non-profit founded by the Ursuline Sisters of Brown County, OH which supports the rural poor.
Cost: $525 per student. All lodging, food, supplies, and transportation are included.
Who can attend? Current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors (Class of '28, ‘29, and ‘30 only.)
