Admissions Overview

Dear Prospective Families,

Welcome to Beaumont School! We’re thrilled you're exploring our community. As the oldest all-girls school in Northeast Ohio, we take pride in our rich heritage and inspiring future.

Founded 174 years ago by four Ursuline Sisters from France, Beaumont was built on the values of St. Angela Merici, who believed that education is a sacred journey, one that requires spirituality and service to others. These values are very much alive at Beaumont today. St. Angela said, “Build community wherever you go.” And we do. Beaumont girls are compassionate change-makers, courageous advocates, and without a doubt, the leaders of tomorrow.

In 2017, Beaumont was designated an International Baccalaureate Programme World School, the only all-girls school in Northeast Ohio to earn the distinction. IB is the Gold Standard for teaching and learning. Our courses are unapologetically student-centered, inquiry-based, and globally-minded. Beaumont scholars can choose to pursue the prestigious Diploma Programme or take any of our 22 IB classes a la carte. Because our faculty is trained in IB pedagogy, every class at Beaumont is inspired by IB philosophies.

Life at Beaumont is vibrant and full of opportunities. “Bored” is simply not in our vocabulary! With 10 varsity sports, seven national honor societies, four school dances, a renowned theater and music program, life-changing service opportunities, and over 30 clubs, there’s always something exciting happening! And girls don’t simply participate. They lead everything, and that changes everything. Beaumont’s unique brand of leadership is collaborative and service-oriented, rooted in our Ursuline tradition. Every student graduates from Beaumont a leader in her own right, ready to make the world a better place – in a way only she can. In a way only she will.

We look forward to welcoming you to Beaumont. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!

Admissions FAQs

Are there specific admissions steps I need to follow if my student currently has an IEP, ETR, 504, or other accommodations plan?

Yes, In addition to general Admissions procedures, students seeking admittance to the Merici Center for Success should register for the December 7 HSPT date at Beaumont School. Registration for the test will include an upload of current documentation, including Individual Education Plan (IEP), Evaluation Team Report (ETR), 504, and/or other formal plans. Students must register for the test and upload documents by November 23. Beaumont’s student support team will review the uploaded documentation in the order it is received and determine if Beaumont can meet the student’s needs. This will be communicated to families in a timely manner. Please note that approval to continue the admissions process does not guarantee admission. If your student is seeking admittance to the Merici Center and cannot accommodate the December 7 test date, please contact the Office of Admissions at admissions@beaumontschool.org or 216-325-1661 to arrange for another appointment.

Does Beaumont offer transportation?

Beaumont does not offer transportation to and from school. Some local school districts do provide transportation via district bussing. However, our students hail from nearly 43 cities, and our Admissions Team is happy to help facilitate carpools. Additionally, Beaumont publishes an opt-in family directory each fall, sortable by zip code, so you can easily connect with families near you!
