Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany.
We made it and everything has gone well so far.
We all arrived at Hopkins Airport yesterday around noon and the check-in went smoothly. Other than the fact that when we scanned our passports at the kiosks we were told there were no reservations in our names. But that problem was quickly fixed when the attendant found our reservations in the computer and we were all able to check-in. We proceeded through security and walked to our gate where we waited for our 2:48 flight to Dulles, Washington D.C.
Upon boarding our plane we were informed of a minor technical problem that would be fixed momentarily. That pushed back our departure by about a half an hour leaving us with not much of a layover in Dulles. Basically just enough time to get off our plane at one gate and walk to the far side of the terminal to wait in line to board our flight to Germany. Now getting over 350 people on to an airplane takes time so we were not rushed and the girls enough time to do whatever they needed to do in the airport.
Our flight to Germany was nice, a little over 7 hours with good food, movies to watch, and even a little time to sleep. We arrived in Frankfurt at 7:00AM, that would be 1:00AM in Cleveland, where we deplaned on to the tarmac and then took a bus to the terminal. That is where this picture was taken.
So much for day 1, we arrived in Germany all safe and sound.
Talk to you soon,
Bob
