From Mr. Simon Masters, Science Department Chair
It is the end of first day 1 and it is coolest it has ever been during our time here. High 80's and a nice breeze. The day went well with microsite and prospecting creating a nice introduction/reintroduction to paleo. Jenna Langa, our female chaperone, has been great helping all of us!
The trip out was a ton of fun, but a couple of the days ran a little long because of fun and traffic.
Trip Day 1 was long because of Chicagoland traffic. Trip Day 2 saw us stop along the Mississippi river and end the day at Dignity Statue and our stop on the Missouri! Day 3 was jam packed, Badlands National Park, the only visitor's center for all 20 National Grasslands in Wall; a stop at Target in Rapid City; then off into the Black Hills; drive by Mount Rushmore; into Custer State Park, Black Hills National Forest, and Wind Cave National Park. We finally got in around 11pm yesterday.
Enjoy the pictures and I look forward to emailing out tomorrow!
