Student wellness continues to be a top priority for the Beaumont Administration. As a teenage mental health crisis grows across the country, we are aware of the important role we play each day in our students’ lives. With intention this year, we adjusted our students’ schedules to set a later start time, accommodate for additional down time with wellness days and daily breathers, and time with our supportive student groups and events to emphasis friendships and connections. Our work for our students’ well-being is ongoing. Look for more about what we are doing to address this important topic in future issues. Here are a few highlights from this year:

BEAUMONT BRIDGES

Beaumont Bridges (formally known as Link Crew) is a leadership and mentoring program made up of juniors and seniors to help with the transition to high school for freshman as well as transfer students to Beaumont. Built on the belief that students can help other students succeed, Bridges leaders meet for monthly check-ins with students to ensure they are making connections within the Beaumont community. Beginning with new student orientation in the fall, our Beaumont Bridges leaders continue with events throughout the year including, Dinner and a Show to support the drama club, athletic events to cheer on the Blue Streaks, Cocoa and Cram study sessions before exams (seen above), and many touch points throughout the year just to make sure they are adjusting to life as a high school student at Beaumont.

SOPHOMORE CLASS PARTY

Our sophomores got into the Christmas Spirit with a class party, and had a blast decorating cookies, singing along to their favorite Christmas songs, and watching holiday movies.

OUR FRIEND BILLIE

Meet Billie, an emotional stability service dog, who comes in during exams to provide our students stress relief.

FALL MIXER

Beaumont hosted a Fall Mixer for freshmen and sophomores with St. Ignatius and Benedictine. It was a perfect night for bonfires and s’mores and meeting new friends in the courtyard!

LATE START MONDAYS

Every first Monday of the month our classes start an hour later, giving our students a chance to sleep in or grab a coffee with a friend.
