CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH, August 8, 2024 – Beaumont School is pleased to announce the election of five distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors, beginning with the 2024-25 academic year. This brings the number of board members to 18. These new members bring a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to the values and mission of Beaumont School.
Sister Laura Bregar, OSU
Sister Laura Bregar, OSU, serves in the ex officio role as the new President of the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland. Sister Laura’s deep-rooted connection with Beaumont School began with her ministry years at Beaumont from 1982-1996, where she served in various capacities including teacher, department chair, administrative team member, and Admissions and Recruitment Director. She holds a BA in History and English, an MA in Educational Administration from Ursuline College, and an MA in Theology from the University of Dayton. Guided by the spirituality of St. Angela, Sister Laura’s extensive experience and dedication will be invaluable to the Beaumont Board. She also serves as a National Board Member for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR).
Beth Baker Carlton '95
Beth Baker Carlton, an alumna and past parent of Beaumont School, serves as the Internal Audit Director at Progressive Insurance, where she has worked for 20 years. A Certified Public Accountant, Beth holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from Miami University. Having contributed to the Finance Committee as a non-board member since 2022, her professional expertise and commitment to Beaumont will be invaluable to the school.
Gerard Daher
Gerard Daher, President and CEO of Speedeon Data, which he founded in 2008, brings a wealth of experience in senior sales, marketing, and business development. He holds an MBA in Finance from Case Western Reserve University and a BS in Consumer Affairs from the University of Missouri. As the parent of two current Beaumont students, Gerard’s strategic vision and leadership skills will be a valuable addition to the Beaumont Board.
Emily Lauer
Emily Lauer is the Vice President of PR & Communications at Destination Cleveland, where she has played a key role in enhancing Cleveland’s image beyond the region since 2015. She led the award-winning PR efforts for the 2016 Republican National Convention and managed national media relations for numerous high-profile events in Cleveland. A graduate of Bowling Green State University, Emily's involvement in community organizations and her commitment to empowering future women leaders will be a significant asset to the Beaumont Board.
Barbara Paynter
Barbara Paynter, APR, Fellow PRSA, recently retired from a distinguished career in public relations, where she specialized in crisis communications, reputation management, and strategic communications. A former partner at Hennes Paynter Communications (now Hennes Communications) and PR Director at Walsh University, she holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri. Active with the Beck Center for the Arts and JumpStart, Barbara brings her communications expertise and dedication to Catholic education and the Ursuline mission to the Beaumont Board.
