FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Beaumont School is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Edmondson as its new Principal and Vice President of Academic Affairs, effective July 2025. With nearly 25 years of experience in Catholic education, Elizabeth brings compassionate leadership, a deep respect for teachers, and a steadfast commitment to student success.
Edmondson is known for her belief in holistic education and for cultivating supportive, empowering environments where both students and educators thrive. Her values align deeply with Beaumont’s Ursuline mission of educating young women to lead with faith, purpose, and the courage to change the world.
“I am honored and thrilled to be joining the Beaumont community, a place known for its commitment to academic excellence, faith, and the development of strong, compassionate leaders,” said Edmondson. “I look forward to beginning this journey alongside such dedicated educators, students, and families, and to building on Beaumont’s extraordinary legacy while shaping a bright and inspiring future together.”
Edmondson began her career as a high school English teacher and has held a variety of academic leadership roles at Gilmour Academy, including Director of the Middle and Upper Schools and, most recently, Chief Academic Officer. She has overseen curricular innovation, teacher development, and school-wide accreditation efforts, while also leading through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She holds credentials in Integrated Language Arts, Reading, and academic mentoring from the Ohio Department of Education and has completed all but her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. A lifelong learner, Elizabeth has presented nationally, contributed to published research, and participated in global professional development initiatives focused on education in Ukraine, Japan, and Central America, as well as Holocaust and anti-discrimination education.
At the heart of her leadership is a deep belief in Catholic values, holistic education, and community. As the mother of two college-aged daughters, she brings an experienced and empathetic perspective to the important work of forming young women for lives of leadership and service.
“Elizabeth’s appointment represents a confident step forward for Beaumont,” said Wendy Hoke, President of Beaumont School. “Her experience, integrity, and heart for mission make her a strong partner in guiding our students and faculty into the next chapter of excellence.”
