Beaumont School Celebrates Its 175th Anniversary

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Beaumont School is proud to announce the celebration of its 175th anniversary, marking nearly two centuries of educating young women for life, leadership, and service. Founded in 1850 by the Ursuline Sisters, Beaumont is the oldest school in Cleveland and one of the oldest all-girls Catholic high schools in the country.

The anniversary year will officially begin on September 9, 2025, with a special Founders Day Mass and Community Celebration at the Guardians baseball game with the Terminal Tower lighting up in Beaumont’s blue and white colors that evening. There will be a year of celebrations including events, initiatives, and storytelling opportunities that honor Beaumont’s rich legacy and vibrant future.

“This milestone offers us the opportunity to celebrate the enduring power of all-girls Catholic education and the generations of young women who have gone on to make a difference in the world,” said Wendy Hoke, President of Beaumont School. “At Beaumont, our students are deeply rooted in faith and inspired to rise into purposeful, compassionate leaders, a mission that has remained constant for 175 years.”

Upcoming Events in the 2025–2026 Anniversary Year Include:

  • Mission & Heritage Week - September 8-12: A week of student and alumnae events honoring the school’s founding and the legacy of the Ursuline Sisters, including service day, Beaumont Day of Giving, and Founders Day Celebration on September 9 with a school liturgy and community gathering at a Guardians baseball game.
  • Grand Reunion Weekend - Fall 2025: All alumnae are invited back to campus to celebrate our milestone of 175 years. Included in the weekend is our Hall of Fame & Distinguished Alumna Luncheon, with Mass at St. Dominic on Sunday.
  • Throughout the Year – 175 Stories for 175 Years: A digital and print storytelling campaign highlighting inspiring voices from the Beaumont community — past and present.
  • Summer 2026: Closing event to celebrate with our community of alumnae, donors, parents and friends.

The school will also unveil a permanent visual timeline installation on campus that traces Beaumont’s history and honors its evolving identity as a global, mission-centered school rooted in the Ursuline tradition and committed to the International Baccalaureate philosophy.

“Beaumont’s story is one of resilience, excellence, and vision,” said Hoke. “We are proud to celebrate this legacy — and even more excited to imagine the next chapter.”
