Beaumont School is proud to announce that Social Studies Chair Kenneth Clark has been named recipient of the 2026 National History Day Teacher of the Year for Ohio (Senior Division), a prestigious honor recognizing exceptional educators who bring history to life through the competition’s innovative, project-based learning.
Presented by National History Day, this national recognition celebrates teachers who demonstrate excellence in engaging students in historical inquiry. Each year, educators are selected for their ability to guide students through original research, analysis of primary and secondary sources, and the presentation of their findings through creative, rigorous projects.
Mr. Clark was selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees for his outstanding commitment to fostering critical thinking, research skills, and student voice in the classroom. Through his leadership at Beaumont, he empowers students to explore complex historical topics, draw meaningful connections to the present, and develop skills essential for success in college, career, and civic life.
“Mr. Clark exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional educator,” said Principal Elizabeth Edmondson. “His passion for teaching and dedication to student growth inspire not only academic excellence, but also confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.”
“Over many years of teaching, I have had the privilege of working with creative, talented and curious students, both at Hawken and now at Beaumont, who recognize the importance and relevance of studying history to understand an increasingly complex world,” shares Mr. Clark. “National History Day provides the structure and platform for young scholars to showcase their knowledge, interests and skills. It has been my honor to work with National History Day and Ohio History Day for the past decade, and I look forward to continuing that partnership at Beaumont in the coming years.”
Mr. Clark will be formally recognized at the Ohio History Day State Contest on April 18, 2026, held at Capital University.
Beaumont School congratulates Mr. Clark on this outstanding and well-deserved achievement.
